Lady Lauchman

Our thoughts go to the Lauchman family on the death of Lady, their 18 year old Dachshund.  Left at a truckstop with her 5 other littermates, 4 survived and made a trip to Spring Grove. She eventually made it to their home.  She was guarded and leary about everything and slowly warmed up to them when she knew she was home.  She sat near Connie and looked like a lady and that is how she got her name.  She was bonded with Ed and they would play ball for hours.  He would hit a ball with his golf club and she would race after it and bring it back to him.  She also liked to play fetch with tennis balls and watch them bounce down the steps.  She loved car rides and camping and was a star when the Lauchmans traveled out west in their motor home.  Typical of her breed, she loved to burrow in the covers.  Her favorite treats were rice cakes and licking ice cream off of Connie's spoon.  Her tender spirit and trusted companionship will never be forgotten.
