Our thoughts go out to Jolene Whirt on the death of Guinness, her beloved 12 year old Hound/Labrador Retriever Mix. Guinness was adopted from a shelter down South and ever since he was, Jolene made sure that he lived up to the adventurous lifestyle he craved and deserved! Named appropriately like Margarita, Guinness got his cocktail name just as his canine brothers and sisters did too. Guinness lived up to the hound in him for sure because he would eat any and everything! Even if that meant breaking into the kitchen cabinets himself, if it was food- it was fair game for Guinness. Just last week he sneaked into Mom's purse to find some chips! Guinness also adored going hiking or anywhere in the car with Jolene, often you could see him riding with his head right out the sun roof, wind blowing in his ears. He accompanied her on every vacation as usually it was to the mountains, somewhere they could get in a good few miles hiking. He even followed her on horseback as Jolene is an avid rider and he kept up the entire trail ride every time! Once Guinness ran off and accidentally got shot by hunters, he was no worse for the wear! He was such a special boy with the most kind-hearted soul, even 'cat' people would fall in love with Guinness. Known at work for his empathy as well, Guinness knew when people were grieving and would even follow after the euthanasia to the waiting room and place his head upon the grieving pet owners lap. Guinness was smart and he knew how to provide assurance to those seeking comfort. An adventurous, full of life dog- Guinness will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
