Our thoughts go out to Kim, Don and Lauren Brough on the death of Everest, their handsome and huge 12 to 13 year old Bernese Mountain Dog. Everest was rescued from Mason Dixon Bernese Mountain Dogs. Lauren was 16 at the time the foster family came to the home to introduce Everest to the Broughs and see if this was a good fit. It was deemed a perfect match, and although Everest wasn't originally intended to stay, he quickly bonded with Lauren and found his forever home. Everest was nervous of middle aged men so it took Don a while to win Everest over but he can clearly recall when that magic moment happened. It was at a baseball game and Everest decided to get cozy on Don's lap. This big old bear loved carbs, especially cookies and bread, as well as sausage and basically any people food with the exception of vegetables! Everest was a gentle giant and he will be missed.
