Our thoughts are with David and Ann Simmons in the death of the beloved cat, Calvin. Adopted into their family with his brother, Hobbs, from a vet in Colorado, these boys were of comfort in their "boy antics" following the deployment of their sons to Iraq. Ann needed to be able to nurture and care for brothers and the blessings that resulted from their adoption were many. Calvin was always a bit of a bully, with even the family's golden retrievers being scared of him. He would chase and swat to establish the dominant position but his "meow" was more of a "meep" which was kind of funny to them. He would also push Hobbs out of his food bowl and finish what Hobbs had already started, not realizing that Hobbs was eating all of his...so in essence, Calvin ate less food. He had a way of dismissing what they said and they could tell because his eyes went to opposite corners as if he had enough conversation. He loved the floor heaters and would cozy up to them. He was a fantastic member of the family who created many shared memories that they will never forget.
