Bubba Roop Thomas

Our thoughts go out to Robin and Mike Roop and Becca Thomas on the death of their beloved almost 13 year old cat Bubba.  Bubba was a "free" cat found in the newspaper.  Becca originally named him Jonas after the Jonas Brothers, her teenage crushes, but it just didn't stick.  Because Bubba was a little chunky and chill he went from Jonas to Buddha which later morphed into Bubba.  This name suited this laid back, go with flow, hungry guy to a tee.  Due to a ruptured cornea Bubba the free cat spent a lot of time at Airpark Animal hospital and the staff would cordially greet him when he came through the door as if he were Norm from Cheers.  Bubba was not particular about what food he consumed but he did demand your undivided attention while doing so.  He would make his human move his food around in his automatic feeder before he would settle in to dine.  If Robin was preparing for a football gathering and making her famous buffalo chicken dip Bubba was sure to be underfoot.  Along with his great love of food, Bubba also enjoyed helping in the garden, being outdoors and being brushed.  Mike lovingly referred to him as "Big Guy" and the family agrees he was a great communicator and also a little manipulative.   Bubba was great friends with Mimi.  This "classic fat cat" will be missed dearly by his loving family.
