Mike and Kristin Newman

Owners

C. Michael "Mike" Newman has been a licensed funeral director for nearly 40 years. He served two terms as President of the Cremation Association of North Carolina, an association dedicated to maintaining high standards for the funeral and cremation industry. He has been a Certified Crematory Operator for more than 30 years. 

Kristin K. Newman grew up in Lancaster, PA and obtained a BS degree in Elementary Education before receiving her AAS in embalming and funeral service. Integrating both her education and funeral service degrees, she is able to meet needs on both personal and professional levels. In addition to their sons, the Newmans are rescue pet-parents of three cats and have been parents to three of the best boxers.

Kristin Hart

Cremation Care Specialist

Kristin has been a part of the Loyal Companion team since 2016. She is a graduate of Ohio University, where she earned her bachelors in Journalism. She is a mom to two sons and one mixed breed rescue dog, Cookie.

Emily Myers

Pet Care Specialist

Emily was born and raised near Winchester, Virginia, and relocated to Pennsylvania in 2008. She lives in Hanover with her husband, Josh, their cats and one rabbit. In her spare time, she enjoys antiquing, collecting vinyl records, and traveling to Virginia to visit her family.

Jenelle Hartsock

Pet Care Specialist

Jenelle worked in healthcare for 13 years as a medical assistant. She started a family and decided to work part time to have better work life balance. She enjoys travel, the gym, and spending time with friends and family. She has 21 chickens, a german shepherd mix and chocolate lab mix. 

Tyler Wentz

Certified Crematory Operator

Tyler works part time at Loyal Companion as a Certified Crematory Operator. He is a 2021 graduate of Hanover High School and is a Hanover Native. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering at Hanover Area Fire & Rescue. He has a loving Yorkie Poo named Cody. 

Chelsea Carrera

Social Media Intern

Chelsea Carrera is a senior at Hanover High School who enjoys playing soccer and softball. Following graduation, she plans on attending Shippensburg University to study business which led her to her internship with Loyal Companion. In her free time, she loves to go to her friend's house to hang out and watch tv shows. She also loves playing with King, who loves his basketball and won't ever let it go!
