Yosemite Topper

Our thoughts go to the Topper family on the death of Yosemite, their domestic short hair.  The following is their tribute: "Britney & Dan Topper of Gettysburg said ‘goodbye’ to their beloved cat, Yosemite (Yosie) on Friday, November 17, 2023 peacefully at their home. Yosemite has been Britney’s first pet as an adult. She found him under a friend’s porch when she was 21 years old. Yosie has done so much in his 17 and a half years of life. Including driving cross country and back with Britney when he was just a kitten. He stayed in Yosemite National Park with Britney while she worked there for a summer in college. The two were together through college, young adulthood, career changes, divorce and marriage, countless moves through multiple states, and death of loved ones. Yosie came to share his home with many other pets through the years including foster dog and cats. He taught many a young pup to respect cats with a hiss and swat across the nose. He enjoyed bacon, scrambled eggs, cereal milk, and a good sunny spot. In his later years, he taught Dan a new-found love for cats and Dan taught Yosie to enjoy being a lap kitty. The two enjoyed watching sports together. Yosemite will be a very missed member of the family."
