Slips Ennis

Our thoughts go to the Ennis family on the death of Slips, their 18 year old domestic short hair.  The following is Stevi's tribute to this most special girl: "Slips was one of six feral kittens found 18 years ago.  She got her name because of her white paws but also because of her incredible ability to escape from the crate that she and her siblings were using to acclimate to indoor living.  She was the only one of the six that would slip through the crate bars.

She held onto some of her feral attributes.  She decided when she wanted love and attention and when she wanted you to even touch her.  She was an indoor/outdoor kitty who first thing in the morning when the door was opened to take Scruffy, the pup out, would run as fast as she could as if she was escaping.  As happy as she was to get out in the morning, she always came home every night.  She'd be sitting in the garage by the door waiting to come in; however, she determined when.  You'd offer her to come in and she'd just sit there looking at you as if to say, "Yeah, but when I'm ready." So the door would be opened, a welcome given a couple times and then she's come in when she was ready.

She loved her brother Glameow. You would find them cuddled up together snuggling.  She loved to share her food in his dish.  If you gave her her own dish, she'd much preferred his.  A huge fan of whipped cream over kitty treats, it was used to bribe her to come in at night.

On August 14, I saw her outside watching butterflies playing in the butterfly bush. Was able to capture a picture. I know she is in Heaven watching all the butterflies.

Always the petite, tiny, little Miss Slips, always beloved by our family.  We will miss her and know she will be there waiting for us when our time arrives.  From my hands to the loving arms of Christ, Heaven gained an amazing spirit.  God bless Slips and all who read this tribute.
