Jesse Blettner-Fuhrman Tribute

Our thoughts go out to the Blettner-Fuhrman family on the death of Jesse, their beloved 14 year old English Setter/Golden Retriever mix. Jesse had a rough start in life, having been born into an accidental breed of hunting dogs in NC. Unfortunately, the owner did not want these pups and dumped them off at the shelter. Being a kill shelter they were to be put down but a kind hearted lady from another rescue ended up coming and picking up the pups and that's how the Blettner-Fuhrman family found their dearest Jesse. He was a scaredy cat for the first 3 months and then finally he broke out of his ways and was never away from Cindy's side after that. Jesse loved ALL treats and squeaky toys! He had a favorite 'talking' ball that he would nudge with his nose and bark and talk back to. He had his own doggy door and fenced in yard and in his elder years when he had trouble walking the steps, Kerry built him his own custom ramp. He slept with Mom- Cindy every night. Jesse was more human-like than dog like. His love and companionship will be greatly missed. The following is their tribute to Jesse:

Me dearest Jesse Boy,

It is with a heavy heart I write this...
When I saw your eyes on the internet at 3 months old I knew I had to have you! So Daddy drove me 3 times to Caring for Creatures in Palmyra, VA! 3rd trip was a charm, that day you came home with us beside our Girl Haley for the long ride. You sat up the whole time looking out the window.
You came into my life afraid of everything, but you left my life a whole, happy, loving, outgoing boy! The love and devotion you gave me will remain in my heart the rest of my days, you fulfilled my life.
Jesse my boy loved to go for car rides and especially when we headed to the lake! He loved to swim and could not wait till I threw the toy!
He loved to get a bath and be groomed. The trust you had for me allowed me to do everything to you and with you.
Until we meet again my dear Jesse boy over the rainbow bridge, my heart, my love and my companion!!

♥Your loving Mom- Cindy, Daddy- Kerry, your sister Gabrielle & can't forget your Brother Dakota & Missy Kitty too!
