Ginger Dudek

Our thoughts go out to the Dudek family on the death of Ginger, their beloved 13 year old Labrador Retriever. Rescued from an elderly couple at the age of 2 years old, Ginger..originally Becky, found her furever home with the Dudeks'. Now Becky was not a good fit for Ginger and they took one look at her beautiful, smooth coat and knew she was a Ginger. The name fit perfectly and ever since they started calling her it, she never looked back. Ginger was quite the character, having many cat like personalities the Dudek's attribute to her previous owners. One was the love of canned tuna and the other was her tendency to rub all along the couch. Ginger was very closely bonded with the Dudek's son, Ryan having seemed to take the spot of their previous lab. They were truly inseparable. She was strictly regimented and knew her schedule well. The Dudek's called her insistent because of the way she knew when 5pm hit and it was dinner time and in the mornings you could find her staring you in the face- telling you it is time for breakfast! Ginger was never a good car rider until the very end, she would squirm and try to jump out the window, pant and try to drive in the drivers seat. She loved toys but could never let any of them go. Ginger was the proud Mother of 13 chocolate Labrador retrievers, Winnie having been one of them and one they still have. She was a very good dog and mother. Apart from the occasional slip up like when they left her in the car, windows cracked for just 10 minutes TOPS and she ate all their chicken bones from KFC! Nicknamed G, Gigi and pain in the a**, among many others. Ginger did not prefer baths but was the best at getting her nails done and would present you her paw as if she knew she was getting a manicure. Sweetest Ginger's love and companionship will be greatly missed.
