Bunky Hastings Tribute

Our thoughts go out to Bonnie Hastings and family on the death of Bunky, their beloved Beagle Mix. Bunky decided to adopt Bonnie one evening when, they believe he was dumped off near their house and he came barking at their other dog through the fence. It took minutes for them to scoop him up, feed him and then set him back outside thinking he was definitely someone's pet! When he just sat there they found out otherwise. Upon further investigation, they did find he was chipped and came from Arkansas but the chip was never registered to a person. Bunky found his furever home then, after awhile of searching for the owners to no avail. He got along great with their other dog and even was super tolerable when they just recently adopted a puppy. Bunky loved to eat! He was super patient and loved car rides (especially to McDonald's) and would wait patiently for his cookies (treats). He wasn't much of a toy dog but much preferred to follow them around the house, into each room. Their little shadow. Bunky did have some quirks, he loved to eat mud which did cause him belly troubles and he did end up having to get a mass of pebbles, etc. removed, but he was too adventurous to let that stop him. Bonnie describes him as the most stoic dog she ever knew..he had such digestive issues but he never complained one bit! Bunky was very well behaved and did not bark unless there were passerbys or when it was time to eat! A wonderful addition to their household and companion who will be greatly missed. Rest in peace sweet Bunky.
