Bailey Speal

Our thoughts go out to the Speal family, Melissa, Shane, Shane Jr. and Brennen on the death of Bailey, their almost 14 year old beloved Golden Retriever.   God had a plan for the Speal family and brought Bailey to them.  A few other rescues did not work out, despite the Speal's efforts.  A volunteer at the York SPCA mentioned a Golden Retriever puppy had just been surrendered and Shane revealed he had always wanted a Golden Retriever, and so it was meant to be, and thankfully so, as Bailey was simply amazing.  Bailey was adopted when Shane Jr was 5 and Brennen was 2 and was by the boy's sides through many milestones.  She was the perfect family dog.  Bailey willingly played the role of dragon when the boys played pirate and adored playing ball, though she would always steal it!  A good campfire made Bailey very happy and she would wag her tail so close to the flame, content to be with the family.  Bailey was a real hit at the Speal's yard sales and was a fan favorite of the kids who attended the nearby preschool.  Bailey helped all the neighborhood kids who were fearful of dogs overcome their anxiety with her sweet and gently nature.  Bailey was quite simply a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
