Forever In Our Hearts

Our thoughts go out to Alvin and Joan Cromer on the death of Lucy, their 13 year old beloved Bichon Frise.  Lucy was simply the best happy go lucky, go with the flow dog that everyone, even people who did not care for dogs, wanted to be around.  She was the perfect dog since day one when she was brought home and fit in the palm of Alvin's hand.  She never had accidents and she never chewed things or misbehaved in any way.  She simply wanted to be in the company of her adoring owners.  Alvin and Joan are huge Bichon enthusists and even hosted a 3 day benefit for Bichon rescue at their home on Lake Meade where Joan is known as the Crazy Bichon Lady.  The event was packed with fun activities such as a fashion show, a kissing booth and Alvin fenced in their huge back yard for the enjoyment of the Bishons who came from as far away as Ireland.  Lucy was named Belle of the Ball at this festive affair.  Loyal Lucy helped Joan through both  breast cancer and back surgery and even won over Joan's mom who was scared of dogs.  Joan's mom was able to let her guard down in the presence of sweet, gentle Lucy and the two became very close over time.  Lucy would become very excited when the family would visit Grandma and she knew many treats were waiting for her as well as some spoiling.  Lucy was taken everywhere with the Cromers and has visited over 20 states.  Playing ball, chasing squeeky toys and going for boat rides around Lake Meade were passions of Lucy's.  Intelligent Lucy was able to train her younger Bichon sister Bella Mae and was considered the second Marine of the family.  The Cromers have strong Christian values and take comfort knowing they will once again be reunited with Lucy.

Joan and Al, there is little that can be said which mitigates the pain of the Lucy's loss. She was indeed a very special dog and an exemplary example of a Bichon Frise. At best she is as you said free from her pain and that is a blessing without compare. Cheri sends all her love as do we. Mitchel and Teresa and Cheri Coats

Joan, Al, and Bella
I was heartbroken to hear of Lucy quick decline in health. Every time I think of her, I see her and Bella looking up at Steve as he is feeding them chicken breast in your back yard. Lucy’s personality was so close to my Lilmiss that I felt that pain all over again but knowing they both are in Heaven watching over us makes it bearable. Keep the Faith😇
